NZ #4: The last week of classes in Auckland

I know that it’s not Sunday today, but since our travel week starts tomorrow, I thought it might be easier to write a blog about the last actual week here in Auckland and then one more just about the travel week. Plus, I do not have to take my laptop with me. So, the past few days were a mix between relaxing and stressing out because of the amount of work we still had to do. Let me tell you about that…

Monday (03/04): On that day, we had our last Communication and History lessons. After them, it was my turn to present the movie “Sione’s wedding”, together with two of my classmates. I finished some of my assignments too, so I would not have a lot of work to do on the other days.

Tuesday (03/05): Most of the time, all of us worked at the Biology presentations. It was also the last Biology lesson we had.

Wednesday (03/06): Jenny took us on our last field trip to Rangitoto– a volcanic island. The hike to the top was pretty exhausting, but the view was totally worth it!! Currently, the volcano is not active, but there are also some caves, which you can explore. Some of us did that as well.

Thursday (03/07): That was a relaxing day- for me at least, because I finished all my papers already. One of my roommate was a little bit freaked out, because she still had to do a lot of work. The teachers declared that day as “study day”, which meant, we did not have to go to the university. I also started packing my suitcase…

Friday (03/08): The day, that I feared the most, had finally come: the Biology presentations were due. Looking back, it really was not that bad, it’s just that I hate talking in front of people, but everybody told me, they liked my part of the presentation. After that class, we went to the marae one more time, spent some time with Phaea Jess, Papa Ho, Phaea Jonyne, and Phaea Nia, and finally had lunch with them. Yes, they also had Scones for us!! Oh, how I will miss those cheesy scones!! I already finished packing, so I just have to store my suitcase in Bruce’s room. Since, I will leave early tomorrow, I might go to bed pretty early today….

You can really be excited for the next blog, which I will write in about a week!! Until then, practice patience and stay tuned!
